I cannot express how deeply disappointed, disrespected, and frustrated I feel with Subaru as a company and the Sioux Falls dealership’s service department. I purchased my Subaru Ascent brand new two years ago, and everything was fine until I went on a vacation six hours away from home. Out of nowhere, the transmission failed, leaving us stranded. Great first time buying experience!! Easy, laid back, actually personable and fun:) But may have lost us with second purchase related to seemingly being too busy to go on a test drive when I had a scheduled appt., not showing us how features worked, no return phone calls or emails when problems were brought to their attention.

contrary to all the negative reviews I see here I have nothing but good things to say about Schulte's. Have had Subarus for nearly 20 years, bought first one used from another dealership & when their carelessness resulted in me being stranded in the middle of 41st immediately after an oil change all they could say was that they had noticed some sluggishness in the transmission which they never advised me of until I complained of being stranded. After getting a salesman to talk to me and showing interest in a new Outback, I was given a used Outback for a test drive. The vehicle had a broken windshield and was out of gas. They had various fees on their price and offered a ridiculous low offer on my trade. I found the staff to be condescending. I bought a new vehicle at another dealership!

My Subaru used to be in South Carolina, and was meticulously maintained and gently driven, with no incidents. The car never had any major issues. Upon moving to South Dakota, I maintained the regular recommended service at Schulte Subaru, including oil changes. At Schulte's second oil change, the 48 point inspection revealed a need to reseal the right cam carrier, which was covered under the warranty. Amber Zuidema contacted me very promptly about the car I was interested in. She was very efficient and friendly, answered all my questions, and sent me a few photos she went and shot of the car for me. I felt I was in very good hands with her and enjoyed the experience of working with her. We have not yet come to an agreement about price, but no matter how this goes, I have a very good impression of Schulte Subaru based on my interactions with Amber.

Went in for an oil change. They called an said my brake pads were in need of replacement in the next 6 months. Since this was the car our daughter used to travel to and from college 300 miles away, we opted to do so sooner. On her way to school, the brakes gave out completely. On the highway. They are the worst dealership we have dealt with. They were nothing but liars. They lied about the damage disclosure on the title and tried to say it was our fault when it fact it was theirs because they were the one that sold us the hailed on Forester. We will never buy another vehicle from Sioux Falls Subaru even though we love the Subaru product.

After having a horrible pre-owned experience with a hometown Subaru dealer, I found a pre-owned online at Schulte. Although it was an out of state transaction, everything went very smoothly. This dealership and specifically Ryan McConnell was an absolute pleasure to work with. He even delivered the car to the Sioux Falls airport on a Saturday evening so we could get right on the road back to Colorado after picking up. The Colorado dealership that will remain unnamed could learn a few things about integrity and customer service from Schulte! I and super happy with the vehicle - thanks Schulte!

My text message to Paul Dahl in sales: Mike knows how methodical I am. I calculate my investments like banker. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give to Mike is that I didn’t “analyze the numbers” to see if I was being taken advantage of. Our salesman, Paul Schroeder, couldn't have been more helpful in making up our minds which Subaru model would work best for us. We were given fair value for our trade-in, and the vehicle delivered ready on the day promised. Overall a very good experience. This is the fourth Subaru we have purchased from the dealership, which has had ups and downs over the years, but we have never been treated anything but fairly by the sales and service departments.
